"Fear Not Yourself" is an installation dedicated to all the victims of terrorist attacks; those done illegally by terrorists and those done legally by politicians. In particular I dedicate this event to the victims of 9/11 in New York, and the people of Afghanistan, Iraq and Europe. I would like to extend a warm thank you to all those who made the realization of this project possible: Anna Czarnecka, Sylwester Gałuszka, Katarzyna Smoła, Mikołaj Robert Jurkowski, Andrzej Kania and Piotr Jahołkowski.

The installation FNY (photos) it's not a political protest per se, but rather a reflection over human condition on the background of the contemporary world. It is, in some sense, continuation of my installation "Theory of Nothing". In Theory of Nothing I relate to space as such and spiritual values expressed in minimal composition and symbols.
(Fear Not Yourself - FNY), is a look at the events of 9/11, 2001 through the prism of our interrelations. Dichotomy between material and spiritual is a product, from a certain point of view, of our ignorance, if we have a chance to discover, that material world is just a projections of our Consciousness - following the saying " Imperfect spirit is the matter and perfect matter is a spirit". Of course this is a conceptual illustration of "something" that is real and beyond the common senses. The source of consciousness is nothing that can be capture through affirmation, and apperception of the fact comes through reduction or negation. The very point of this realization is beyond words.
Terroristic attacks and growing global tension starts to sink into our daily reality. The attack on New York opened like a Big Historical Gong our entering into XXI century. Behind the quarrelling and national conflicts there is " a blood circulation" of our civilisation - at this point of time and space - this is petroleum.
Nature as surrounding us biological environment and nature of economy are claiming its own rights. There is a saying that "anyway, nature bits last". Beyond the ideological and religious differences we all are traveling in Universe on the same spaceship called The Earth. Maybe it's imported to look at it from the distance like people from "Apollo 11", who for the first time looked at Earth as a green-blue marble flying in the vast and infinite space. To overcome our own individual existential fear is for me the key element in understanding our everyday reality and the changes which occurs around us.
Openning took place on 9/11/2005 in Colony of Artists - PGR Art in Gdańsk Shipyard. Some photos from the installation are done by and with permission of Andrzej "Tramway" Kania and Rafał Małecki.
Physical aspect of FNY are the panels on the floor and on the walls. Performance "Feeding of Hungry Ghosts" was done by Piotr Jahołowski. White panels on the floor got colors during the performance, once and forever.
Peace to all innocent and lost souls.
Don't Fear Yourself
- you, as the Consciousness, the only Self - you are infinite.

The real does not die, the unreal never lived.

Imagine a big building collapsing; some rooms are in ruins, some intact. But can you speak of the space as ruined, or intact? It is only the structure that suffered and the people who happened to live in it.

Nothing happened to space itself. Similarly, nothing happens to life when forms break down and names are wiped out. The goldsmith melts down old jewelry to make new.

Once you know that death happens to the body and not to you, you just watch your body falling off, like a discarded garment.

The real you is timeless and beyond birth and death. The body will survive as long as it is needed. It is not important that it should live long.
